Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician position to join our multidisciplinary epilepsy research team. The successful candidate will perform basic laboratory tasks, such as mouse colony management, assist with animal surgery, and data analysis. Additional work in electrophysiology, Imaging, histology, and mouse behavior studies may be included depending on the applicant’s interest, background, and skill. We do not require prior research experience, but seek a highly motivated individual who is eager to learn new techniques and gain research background in Neuroscience.

Job Duties

  • Conduct mouse colony management, report the status to PI.
  • Daily check on the condition of animals in the satellite animal facility. -
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data using statistical software and/or basic programming.
  • Documents and reports results of experiments.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
