Job Description
Summary
The Intern/Aide will support ongoing research studies within the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center during a paid summer internship program. This position provides hands-on exposure to pediatric hematology/oncology research and offers structured learning opportunities in research operations, administration, and laboratory-related activities. The internship is designed to foster professional development by building foundational research, laboratory, and administrative skills while contributing to active research projects under supervision.
Job Duties
- Assist with research study support activities within the Cancer and Hematology Center
- Perform database management tasks, including data entry and organization
- Support inventory management of research supplies and materials
- Conduct chart reviews in accordance with research protocols
- Assist with sample processing following established procedures
- Apply general laboratory skills to support ongoing research projects
- Use computer and administrative skills to support research and program needs
- May assist with special projects/programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled high school, undergraduate, or graduate student
- Interest in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric healthcare
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn research processes and concepts
- General laboratory skills or interest in laboratory-based work
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and record management

Work Authorization Requirement:
