Job Description
Summary
The Intern/Aide will support ongoing research studies within the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center as part of a paid summer internship program. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to pediatric hematology/oncology research by offering hands-on experience in research operations, data support, and laboratory-related activities. The internship focuses on developing foundational knowledge, comprehension, and practical application of research concepts while working alongside experienced research and healthcare professionals.
Job Duties
- Assist with research database management and data organization
- Support inventory management related to research supplies and materials
- Conduct chart reviews in accordance with research protocols
- Assist with sample processing for research studies
- Perform general laboratory support tasks as assigned
- Complete administrative tasks that support ongoing research activities
- Utilize computer systems and software to support research documentation and tracking
- May assist with special projects/programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric healthcare
- Familiarity with or interest in research processes and methodologies
- Basic computer skills and comfort working with databases
- Attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols
- Willingness to learn general laboratory and administrative skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment
