Job Description
Summary
The Intern/Aide will support research activities within the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center as part of a paid summer internship program. This role provides hands-on exposure to clinical and laboratory-based research, while fostering professional development for students interested in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric healthcare. The intern will receive structured training and mentorship while assisting with essential research and administrative tasks that contribute to ongoing studies.
Job Duties
- Assist with database management related to research studies
- Support inventory management for research and laboratory supplies
- Conduct chart reviews to collect and organize relevant research data
- Participate in sample processing following established research protocols
- Apply foundational research concepts to support active research projects
- Perform general laboratory, computer, and administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled high school, undergraduate, or graduate student
- Interest in pediatric hematology/oncology, pediatric healthcare, or research
- General laboratory skills or willingness to learn laboratory techniques
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a research team
