Job Description

Summary

The Intern/Aide will support research activities within the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center as part of a paid summer internship program. This role provides hands-on exposure to clinical and laboratory-based research, while fostering professional development for students interested in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric healthcare. The intern will receive structured training and mentorship while assisting with essential research and administrative tasks that contribute to ongoing studies.

Job Duties

  • Assist with database management related to research studies
  • Support inventory management for research and laboratory supplies
  • Conduct chart reviews to collect and organize relevant research data
  • Participate in sample processing following established research protocols
  • Apply foundational research concepts to support active research projects
  • Perform general laboratory, computer, and administrative tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled high school, undergraduate, or graduate student
  • Interest in pediatric hematology/oncology, pediatric healthcare, or research
  • General laboratory skills or willingness to learn laboratory techniques
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a research team
