Job Description
Summary
The Intern Aide (Administrative) will support the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center through a paid summer internship designed to provide meaningful exposure to pediatric hematology/oncology and healthcare administration. This role offers hands-on experience in data analysis, writing, process improvement, and project coordination while working closely with administrative leadership, staff, and faculty. The internship emphasizes professional development, collaboration, and skill-building in a healthcare academic environment.
Job Duties
- Gather, compile, and analyze administrative workflows to support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assist with data mining, analysis, and basic financial tracking activities
- Support writing and editing of administrative and operational documents
- Participate in project management activities related to strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology leadership, staff, trainees, and faculty to advance organizational goals
- Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled administrative team meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program
- Preferred fields of study include healthcare administration, public health, health sciences, business administration, data analytics, or a related discipline
- Interest in pediatric healthcare, pediatric hematology/oncology, or academic medical environments
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Ability to write clearly and edit documents effectively
- Interest in learning SOP development, process improvement, and administrative operations
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team setting
- Familiarity with data analysis, documentation, or project coordination (preferred but not required)
