Is responsible and accountable for providing clinical education to clinical and non-clinical employees. Facilitates education, delegation and coordination of clinical care for optimum patient outcomes. Ensures and assesses employee’s understanding of clinical-related programs and material.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work 8a-4:30p with the occasional off-shift time to manage education needs for PM and night shift staff.
  • Develop and organize in-services, educational programs for clinical and non-clinical employees and collaborate with department leaders to determine effectiveness of education programs.
  • Develop, maintain, coordinate and present education materials and sessions to employees under the appropriate guidelines, such as chemotherapy biotherapy courses, oncology courses, and other developmental opportunities all designed to empower, support and encourage clinical employees.
  • Active participation and documentation of completion of hospital regulatory (ex. Joint Commission) and department required continuing education programs. Provides programs that conforms to accepted practice standards i.e. Oncology Nursing Society, (ONS), National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), etc.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, employees, outside agencies, and the Enterprise Education Team to create and implement effective clinical educational programs.
  • Assist in Organization and Enterprise-wide Policy development and education roll out.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate ongoing education and support for clinical staff, including new products and equipment.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to determine effectiveness of education programs to employees.
  • Assist in the on-boarding of new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your qualifications should include:

  • 3 years of related experience and ICU experience
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current IL RN License
  • BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
  • ACLS through American Heart Association upon hire or before completion of orientation.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor for BLS and ACLS, OCN or CCRN National Certification preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $37.81 - $62.28 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
