Job Description

Summary

You would be responsible for collecting study subject information for a clinical research study, entering research data into study database, scheduling study subjects for tests and procedures specific to the research protocol, and assisting study subjects with navigation through the study process.

Job Duties

  • Supports the screening, enrolling, collecting of samples, and monitoring research participants for multiple studies.
  • Administers questionnaires and study surveys and enters data into different study databases.
  • Abstracts data from the medical record as required by the study protocol or sample request.
  • Monitors patient schedules and guides them through the consent process for multiple studies.
  • Orders and maintains supplies and equipment and monitors inventory.
  • May collect vital signs or other biometric information.
  • May collect blood or other samples from study participants.
  • Conducts study activities at the VA medical center and other BCM-affiliated hospitals, as needed.
  • Responds to study queries and performs data abstraction for different studies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field. 
  • Experience working with clinical studies. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Phlebotomy experience.
