The Native Nations Center Research Project Manager will assist the Director and Associate Director of Research to advance the team research agenda and developing research designs, data coordination and management to support such initiatives. This role is expected to build connections between NNC programs and faculty/student researchers and tribal communities, while helping create and strengthen community engagement activity taking place already with community partners. 

Duties:

  • Supports and contributes to designing research planning, organizing grant submissions, and responding to new funding opportunities.
  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers, key campus offices, departments, and centers to implement and complete short and long-term research and planning projects with overlapping timelines.
  • Schedules, facilitates, or participates in meetings and presents research findings to fellow researchers, investigators, community partners, faculty, staff, students, or departmental representatives as needed.
  • Creates and revises research, grant, or project budgets and reports for submission or in accordance with funding or research opportunities or protocols
  • Performs research, data aggregation, and various other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
  • Develop and implement content around ethics and research for Native Nations Center Initiatives and programming for publication
  • Acts as a liaison with internal and external agencies, compiles data, statistics, and other information
  • Works with a variety of stakeholders with different priorities
  • Engages in broad strategic thinking and planning with intercultural competency and sensitivity
  • Facilitates teaching resources, such as community engaged workshops, consultations, and internship partnerships
  • Develops research resources, such as community engaged research workshops, consultation, and Indigenous methodologies
  • Community partnership programming (develop and facilitate resources to connect with, track and assess community partnerships)
  • Assists in developing a communication strategy involving outreach, risk management, and the NNC website
  • Tracks and assesses faculty, staff, and broader community data compilation and maintains digital assets
  • Develops an annual research report, event program and coursework review, surveys and partnership evaluations
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 48 month of project management experience

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months experience.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic data analysis and general understanding of database concepts
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and engage in repetitive motions. Must be occasionally able to lift (25), stand, crouch and bend.

Supervision: Yes, 1-5 staff
