Summary

Molecular and Human Genetics department is looking for Manager, Research Administration position. The Research Administration Manager position will have three primary research areas to manage that includes the clinical research administration team, two large, multi-PI program project grants, the IDDRC and a P50, each of which has multiple cores associated with it; and research administration compliance. The position will be responsible for all pre- and post award aspects of both grants that includes renewals, progress reports and reconciliations. The manager will also lead and manage clinical research administrative operations, that includes approvals and will serve as lead research compliance manager for the department. This position will be for the third research administration manager to complement the current two research administration managers who currently oversee all pre-award and post award for the department. The focus of this third research administration manager will be on clinical research and research compliance. Thus, completing a three-model structure to oversee all main aspects of research administration for the department. This will be a hybrid position. 

Job Duties

  • Leads the MHG Clinical Research Administration Team.
  • Manages two large program project grants, the IDDRC and a P50 grant, each of which has multiple cores.
  • Leads the compliance aspect of research administration for the department.
  • Supervises three administrative staff.
  • Approves grant proposal submissions for the department to Central Sponsored Programs Office, that includes grant submissions, carryforwards, no-cost extensions, progress reports, and other prior-approvals.
  • Provides direct research administration support to two senior, heavily-funded faculty.
  • Develops and train new administrative staff on clinical research administration (pre-award and post award) duties.
  • Approves clinical research proposals in BRAIN to SPO and OCR.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to research administration for the department.
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations for assigned faculty.
  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintains clinical research administration resources on the departmental Share-point site.
  • Manages the IDDRC multi PI grant that includes account reconciliations, progress reports, other required federal reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CRA certification.
  • Experience in clinical research.
  • Experience in research compliance.
