Senior Financial Analyst – Biopharma Finance

The Biopharma Finance team is responsible for financial leadership and strategic partnership across all aspects of the Biopharma business. The group delivers financial support and analysis to Biopharma Presidents and commercial teams, providing timely, accurate and insightful analyses to support the Biopharma business.

The Biopharma Finance organization is currently recruiting for multiple Senior Financial Analyst roles open across:

  • US Specialty Care Business Unit

  • US Oncology Business Unit

  • Global Biopharma Medical Affairs / CMO Finance

Below are the core responsibilities for Senior Financial Analysts in the Biopharma Finance team. Specific responsibilities will vary depending on BU assignment.

Responsibilities (Specialty Care, Oncology)

  • Lead the management of Business Unit Non-Brand and HQ Expenses, as well as partner with Global Marketing team to provide support for Global Marketing expenses. Non-Brand, HQ and Global Marketing expense support includes monthly reporting of actuals, quarterly forecasting and annual operating plan including Lighthouse submissions, cost center and hierarchy management, and monthly/quarterly reclass and accrual entries as needed

  • Finance Lead responsibilities including full P&L ownership for certain “Tier 3” brands within assigned BU portfolio.  “Tier 3” brands are largely forecasted and modeled in Lighthouse, however the Senior Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and validating those projections, final submission of forecasts and operating plans, as well as monthly and quarterly analysis and insight into Brand P&L performance, including preparing performance commentary where needed.

  • Manage Other Income / Royalties within assigned BU including periodic reporting and analysis as well as preparation of forecasts and operating plans and submissions into Lighthouse

  • Assist in BU FP&A processes across reporting, planning and forecasting. Partner with Global FP&A team to ensure all FP&A deadlines and deliverables are met.

  • Participate in simplification/automation initiatives and driving other financial process improvements to support the changing needs of the business unit teams, as well as the greater Biopharma and Finance organizations, including partnership with DS COE.

  • Provide finance support when needed for areas outside management reporting and forecasting/planning such as restructuring, cost center management, balance sheet reviews, and metadata/hierarchy management in Global Mosaic and other key financial systems.

  • Coordinate multiple projects concurrently; Serve on various ad-hoc commercial or finance teams as needed

Responsibilities (Medical Affairs / CMO Finance)

Biopharma Medical Affairs / CMO Finance Sr Analysts will serve as the Finance Partners for multiple groups.  Medical Affairs/CMO Finance Sr Analysts will provide financial leadership, business consultation, and analytical support to each of the Medical / CMO teams. As a strong partner, the Sr Analysts will serve as the first point of contact on all finance related questions, analyses, and deliverables for business teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnering –Sr Analysts are responsible for providing strategic business finance support to the business teams.  Must establish effective working relationships with business partners and provide financial leadership, business consultation, and analytical support to the team.  To be successful, must analyze key business trends and proactively identify and communicate issues, opportunities, and/or threats to the financial success of the brands and recommend potential solutions. 

  • Expense Management –Sr Analysts must collaborate with the Medical / CMO teams on management of their expense budgets and on the development of expense forecasts. Will also provide financial support and analyses for incremental funding requests.

  • Month/Quarter Close –Sr Analysts are responsible for key accounting activities required at period close. This includes recording expense accruals, recording coupon rebates, and completing balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Reporting – Sr Analysts are responsible for tracking medical / CMO spend (monthly and quarterly) as well as identifying and communicating key performance drivers to Medical / CMO and Finance management.

  • The Medical Affairs / CMO Finance Sr Analysts will provide analysis and insight into spend which requires an understanding of the spend categories and processes within Medical / CMO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or related field

  • Must have strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written & presentations)

  • Strong financial modeling, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing business needs and high priority deliverables

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Comfortable interfacing with and presenting to management

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $75,700.00 to $126,300.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 10.0% of the base salary. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
