Job Description

The Webb Group (Chemical and Biological Engineering) and Vertaix (Computer Science, led by Adji Bousso Dieng) have an opening for a postdoctoral or more senior researcher. The researcher will perform research related to advancements in methods and applications of machine learning for the study and design of polymeric systems and other soft materials. The successful applicant will be appointed through either the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department or the Computer Science Department, with a strong affiliation to the second department. Qualified candidates should possess strong technical computational skills as well as expertise in molecular simulation (atomistic/coarse-grained modeling, enhanced sampling) and/or machine learning (e.g., deep learning, generative modeling, probabilistic modeling, embedding techniques). Domain knowledge related to soft materials or polymer physics is also of interest.
