Job DescriptionThe W. P. Carey School Technology Strategy and Operations (TSO) team is a unique collective of analysts and technologists whose purpose is to advance EduTech for the School in partnership with faculty, researchers, staff and our enterprise partners throughout ASU. We build trustworthy partnerships, innovative and sustainable technology solutions, and expand technical proficiency throughout the school as W. P. Carey and its partners continue to grow. The TSO team plays a key role in proactively furthering the academic, research, and community missions of ASU.
We are looking for a Management Intern, Systems Support who will be dedicated to the maintenance and support of the W. P. Carey’s computing infrastructure.

Essential Duties
Uses applications software such as distributed network systems, database management systems, Web page development tools, desktop publishing tools, and presentation tools to support products to meet user needs
Configures, installs and upgrades computer hardware and software, which may include computer network hardware and software
Tests newly set up equipment to assure that it works in coordination with other associated hardware and software products
Identifies causes of problems when hardware and software are not operating properly and takes appropriate action
Repairs or resolves a wide variety of problems and confers with or escalates problems to vendors, contractors, or others in the university to assure that resolution is reached
Coordinates with other information technology organizations including the central IT organization to ensure optimal use and efficiency of computer and related resources
Where possible develops and recommends alternative solutions to existing systems and processes
Establishes and maintains effective communications with customers, other technology specialists, and vendors about services
Collaborates and teams with others on a variety of technology and technology support projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with principles of server and application virtualization
Experience supporting Windows Endpoints, Linux, and Mac OS devices
Experience with computer programming languages (PHP, Python, PowerShell, HTML5, and/or Bash)
Demonstrated knowledge of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platforms
Demonstrated knowledge of networks, routing, IP Traffic flow
Demonstrated knowledge of IT security best practices
Experience working on cross functional project teams and documenting customer needs
Experience with system and business improvement methods and approaches
Experience working on multiple projects with competing deadlines
Evidence of effective communication skills
High energy and curious to learn new technologies
Working Environment
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.
Regular review of completed tasks.
