Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Maryam Raeeszadeh-Sarmazdeh at the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at University of Nevada, Reno. We are looking for talented and motivated postdoctoral candidates, who are interested in protein engineering to develop protein designer scaffolds targeting enzymes, and smart stimuli-responsive protein systems, by combination of directed evolution and rational design with applications in biomedicine and biosensing.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, cell and molecular biology, or related disciplines by time of appointment. The degree must have been completed within the past five years.
Preferred Qualifications
Prospective postdoctoral applicants with skills and interest in protein engineering and design, including; molecular biology and cloning, directed evolution and rational design of proteins using cell display platforms and FACS, recombinant protein expression and purification in different hosts, protein biochemistry and enzyme kinetics, and cell-based assays, are highly encouraged to apply for the position. Expertise in structural biology such as X-ray crystallography or computational methods such as protein molecular modeling and machine learning is a plus.

Total Compensation
The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
