Position Summary

The Department Administrator, Electrical and Computer Engineering will play a crucial role within the team, overseeing the day-to-day academic operations. Responsibilities include processing reimbursements, purchasing office/lab supplies, course assistant hiring, and coordinating travel arrangements for departmental faculty and students. Manages the logistics of events, seminars, and faculty meetings. Recommends new initiatives to department administrative leadership and Department Chair, and oversees individual projects. Coordinates shared resources among department to ensure coverage of operational needs. Interprets and adheres to University and school policies and serves as an information expert for departmental faculty and students. Treats all communications and information, especially financial details, with confidentiality to uphold integrity and trust in interactions with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience experience in operations and business management; human resources, managing budgets & expenditures, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Workday, Concur, and Google Sheets & Forms. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe. Robust analytical and computational skill set, demonstrating excellence in organizational and interpersonal skills. Dependability is crucial and the candidate must have strong and polished written and oral communication skills. The position demands significant attention to detail, effective communication, collaborative teamwork, and time management. Must be professional and have the ability to work well with others as well as autonomously. The candidate should demonstrate the capability to proactively identify, communicate, and resolve problems.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $62,400.00 to USD $71,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
